Dwight teachers are known for nourishing each child's passion for learning. They have the energy, intellect, and charisma that take children on a magical and challenging voyage of discovery. To help faculty hone their skills and broaden their expertise, Dwight provides faculty grants each year for research, travel, and other professional development.
Recent faculty undertakings included:
- IB conferences in Bucharest, Toronto, Atlanta, Austin, and St. Petersburg.
- Coursework in adolescent education in chemistry, multi-sensory approaches to literacy and social work practices in schools.
- A trip to Edinburgh for a group of Dwight students to perform an original production at The Festival Fringe, the largest theater festival in the world.
- Setting up an exchange program for Dwight students in Lima, Peru.
- A cross-country bike trip to raise money for the American Lung Association.
- A Quantum Learning conference in San Jose and a Howard Gardner Conference at Harvard.
- An Arts Education program with the Rubin Museum of Art including a trip to Bhutan to integrate Himalayan art and culture into the curriculum.
- A two-week Environmental Studies field project with the Earthwatch Institute in the Pantanal region of Brazil.
Our energetic administrators and staff also embody the principles of the International Baccalaureate program and use their specialized skills to provide the best possible learning experience for each student.
