Mommy/Daddy & Me

"Mommy/Daddy & Me" classes, which will be held at Woodside, have been designed for parents/caregivers to attend with their children, infants to age 5. These classes are open to Woodside students as well as their family members and friends.

Our Fall 2008 program will include Music Together. The class schedule is as follows:

Mondays at 10:15am in Woodside's Preschool Gym

Mondays at 11:15am in Woodside's Preschool Gym

Tuesdays at 10:15am in Woodside's Preschool Gym

Tuesdays at 11:15am in Woodside's Preschool Gym

Thursdays at 3:15pm in Woodside's Toddler Gym

Preschool Program

Woodside Preschool provides an authentic learning experience for children in order that they can become enthusiastic, caring, compassionate, internationally minded learners and problem solvers. The school offers the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization which combines inquiry and traditional teaching methods.

Woodside's focus is on providing:

  1. A curriculum that frees the creative spirit of each child.
  2. A systematic and well organized program of sensory and intellectual units of inquiry in order to maximize learning.
  3. A focus on the emotional development of children in order to develop a strong sense of self esteem.
  4. A team of teachers who model and exemplify the highest ideal of the teaching profession.
  5. A series of parenting workshops.
  6. A course of study that exposes children to great thinkers, artists and musicians as a base for future learning.
  7. An awareness that it is our responsibility to ignite the spark of genius within every child.

Woodside Preschool offers classes to three age groups:

  • 2s&3s
  • 3s&4s
  • 4s&5s

Junior Passport Program

The Woodside Jr. Passport Program is designed to help students develop their abilities and talents in a variety of activities, as well as broaden their interests, build their self-esteem, spark their imagination, and reinforce what they have learned in their daily school program.The classes, which are designed for children ages three and up, are scheduled after the normal school day, and may also be attended by children who are not enrolled at Woodside Preschool.

The Jr. Passport Program currently offers the following activities: drama, music, art, dance, tennis, yoga, soccer, ballet, foreign languages, cooking, and computer instruction to name a few.The classes, which are offered weekly and biweekly, are taught by a very talented and experienced group of teachers from organizations such as Super Soccer Stars, Drama Zone, and The Creative Kitchen.

Summer Camp

At the Woodside Summer Camp, children will have the opportunity to take part in a range of sports, arts and creative activities. The camp offers a warm, nurturing environment for younger campers while emphasizing fun and friendship.

Each week will have a special theme and children will enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Riverside Park with its soccer and sports facilities is only a few feet away, as is a large, beautiful playground. The school itself is fully air-conditioned, has two indoor gyms, newly equipped classrooms and an indoor playroom.

All programs are led by the experienced and enthusiastic teachers of Woodside and The Dwight School and are offered to children ages 2 - 5.

The summer program has three sessions: June 16-July 18, June 16-July 3, and July 7-July 18. You have the option of signing up for either one or two block sessions.
